One-pan honey garlic chicken with asparagus

Ingredients

  • 5-6 chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 bunch asparagus

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Heat an cast-iron or otherwise oven-safe skillet to medium-high and melt the butter in the pan. Salt and pepper the chicken thighs, then toss them into the pan and sear both sides. Remove the chicken.

Add to the pan the onions, garlic, brown sugar, honey, thyme and oregano. Stir together at high heat for a minute or two, then kill the heat. Put the chicken back in the skillet along with the asparagus. Bake for 25 minutes.
